My name is Caroline Bliss Larsen, and I pledge to do no harm.
I’ve been on both ends. As an editor, I know the importance of polished, grammatical writing. As a writer, I know the importance of letting your creative voice breathe. As your partner in publication, I promise to strike a balance between the two and, like the Girl Scouts, always leave a place (your manuscript) better than I found it. I’ll be an “invisible hand,” helping behind the scenes but letting you be the showstopper. After all, it’s your name on the byline.
I have a bachelor’s degree in English language from Brigham Young University, with minors in editing and English literature. Studying how language functions on qualitative and quantitative levels has opened my eyes to new insights in editing and writing. My academic work has trained me in research, analysis, and synthesis of meaningful thought, and I bring that to my editing and writing. I have experience in several different fields of publishing—book, magazine, short fiction, cookbook, academic, technical, self-help, and blogging.
I’m confident that you will be pleased with not only the outcome of your book, but with our professional relationship. I’m organized yet flexible and down-to-earth, so we’ll skip the drama and focus on getting you published!
